About us

EDG:Architecture is a young and ambitious firm of Chartered Architects based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and working across the UK. Our regular working area includes the likes of Harrogate, York, Leeds, Wetherby, Ilkley and Ripon. We have also completed projects in the North including Newcastle, Gateshead, and Durham too. We have also completed designs in Manchester, Sheffield, Hull, Leamington and London as well. We pride ourselves on our design flair, but also our ability to take a project from conception, through to completion.

Hi, I’m andrew

I’ve always worked in residential Architecture for several practices based in Durham and Harrogate.

EDG:Architecture Ltd was established in 2019 after I realised that I was looking for a change in direction. My goal was to be able to provide architectural design that makes a real difference to my Clients’ lives.

Here at EDG we will always have Client care at the heart of everything that we do. This extends to both customer satisfaction and financial responsibility with your budget.

We are a small firm. This means that every time you call, you can rest assured that you can speak directly to myself.

You can reach me on 07579064066 or by email at andrew@edgarchitecture.co.uk

Hi, I’m Jean-paul

Jean-Paul, also known as JP, is our newest architect at EDG. He completed his Part III 4 years ago at Westminster University and his Part II 10 years ago at University of the West of England and Part I at the Glasgow School of Art.

Having lived and worked in London for a number of years, he has been fortunate to work on some amazing projects and within some well-established practices such as Alison Brooks Architects and Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners. He has now returned to his hometown of Leeds and is enjoying the autonomy and the range of projects he is working on at EDG.

Recently, JP has been taking part in the Architecture In Schools programme, facilitating architectural workshops with Year 4 students, with a focus on reimagining the city and urban spaces through drawing and physical modelling tasks.

In his spare time, JP enjoys a variety of sports, particularly squash and tennis which he plays regularly. Another big passion of his is cooking, which is stems from his parents owning and running a restaurant since before he was born.

Hi, I’m Asela

Asela studied at the Coruna school of Architecture but is an RIBA Chartered Architect in the UK. Asela has great experience in residential and education sectors.

After moving to the UK in 2014 Asela worked with Andrew at another Harrogate Architects practice before being reunited at EDG:Architecture several years later.

Asela also holds a masters degree in Landscape Architecture giving us the ability to consider buildings in their wider context.

Outside of work Asela can usually be found kicking back with a glass of wine and some traditional Spanish cuisine.

Hi, I’m Louis

Louis is a graduate architectural assistant with a Masters Degree from De Montfort University. Louis is currently working towards his Chartership with the ARB and RIBA.

All of Louis’ work includes a high level of design flair and ambition to create beautiful homes without needing to add significant complexity or cost.

Outside of work Louis is a Chelsea fan, but we cant all be perfect!

Hi, I’m charlotte

Charlotte is our Social Media Manager and Virtual Assistant.

After three years of travelling and working abroad, Charlotte came back to the UK to study a Masters in Biodiversity and Conservation at Leeds University, and worked part-time in the office here at EDG.

Since graduating in 2022 she started her own business in social media management and has continued to work with EDG primarily virtually. Charlotte loves being creative and is so happy to be pursuing her passion.

Considering Charlotte’s previous experience in office-based roles, her interest in interior design and architecture, and understanding of social media platforms, she is well placed within the company.

Hi, I’m Charlotte

Charlotte has a background in Lettings, Estate Agency, Recruitment and as a Personal Assistant - so is competent to handle the challenges that come with a busy office environment!

Away from the office Charlotte is a true Harrogate girl and loves nothing more than afternoon tea at Betty’s and a walk in the Dales

Charlotte is currently taking time away from the office to look after her two adorable little girls (see below).

Hi, I’m Jules

As a recent graduate from the school of naps, Juliet is a class above when it comes to Crayons. Pretty pictures are her forte.

Away from the office Juliet is a big animal lover, often found screaming with excitement at cats and dogs.

Whilst her social life is limited by Covid, she enjoys nothing more than building towers and demolishing them shortly after.

What sets us apart?

experience:

Prior to forming EDG:Architecture, our experience has included projects of various scale, from single-storey kitchen extensions in the North East, through to multi-million pound mixed use regeneration schemes in London.

We also have an excellent reputation of working closely with developers and planning professionals to produce feasibility studies for both new housing developments, conversions, and refurbishments.

customer service:

Our customer service is second to none. We understand that you are investing time and financial resources in our services and therefore expect nothing less than exceptional service.

We also appreciate that, for most homeowners, choosing to extend/remodel/convert your home is probably the second largest investment you will make, after purchasing your home. As such, it is our responsibility to protect your budget and to deliver exceptional design that meets your requirements.

For developers we know that time and cost are critical components. This is why we offer fixed fees instead of the traditional percentage based fee structures. This is also why we are prepared to put in the extra effort to ensure that design targets are met to enable the draw-down of development funds.
